The Mammography Technician Technology major is designed to provide the student with the skills and knowledge necessary to perform as a Mammography Technician. The major comprises four courses totaling sixteen semester credit hours. The first course, Introduction to Radiologic Sciences, provides the student with an introduction to the profession of radiologic technologists. The second course, Radiographic Procedures and Pathology, covers basic radiographic procedures and pathology. The third course, Mammographic Techniques, focuses on the performance of mammographic examinations. The fourth and final course, Clinical practicum in Mammography, provides the student with an opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills learned in the previous three courses in a clinical setting.
